Thuraya Satellite Communications

Thuraya is a regional mobile satellite system covering most of Europe, northern and central Africa, the Middle East, central and southeastern Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Japan, and Australia.  It uses geosynchronous satellites to provide reliable satellite-based voice services. Outfitter Satellite offers both prepaid and postpaid service plans.

THURAYA DATA SERVICES:  A variety of internet access and data services is available from Thuraya including:  9.6 kbps circuit switched data, GmPRS "always-on" internet services with up to 60 kbps download speeds, and Thuraya IP broadband service.

THURAYA IP BROADBAND:   Thuraya IP requires a lightweight land portable terminal. Shared-bandwidth internet access speeds up to 444 Kbps and streaming IP data speeds up to 384 Kbps can be achieved. Outfitter Satellite offers a prepaid internet access solution for customers that do not need streaming IP data.

THURAYA EQUIPMENT:   Thuraya offers the single-mode Thuraya XT satellite phone and the dual-mode Thuraya SG-2520 with both satellite and GSM cellular capability.  A variety of docking station solutions are available for both phones.
