OVERVIEW: Thuraya is a regional mobile satellite system that provides communication services over most of Europe, northern and central Africa, the Middle East, central and southeastern Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Japan, and Australia. It uses geosynchronous satellites to provide satellite-based voice and 9.6 kbps data services. Optional GmPRS "always-on" internet services with up to 60 kbps download speeds is also available.
THURAYA SALES AND RENTALS: Outfitter Satellite offers rental Thuraya equipment and support for current and legacy phone models including: the HNS-7100, HNS-7101, SO-2510, and SG-2520. The smallest phone model currently available weighs only 4.6 oz. Some models have GSM cellular capability and modern features such as camera mode.
